However, it is the world of professional sports players and athletes turning their attention to this small municipality which has come as a surprise to some. Caveat Emptor - Finding the Right Cosmetic Surgeon

The decision to go under the knife for cosmetic purposes can make you feel overwhelmed to say the least. Cosmetic surgery, even if only for pure aesthetic reasons, still involves a certain amount of risk. So, it goes without saying that you absolutely must find the right surgeon. And the right one for you may not be the same as your neighbor's suggestion. With that, you may have to be willing to travel to a much larger city, even if they're plenty of cosmetic doctors in your local area. You don't want to leave this life altering decision-whether good or bad-to someone who just graduated from medical school.
One important task to making sure you're choosing the right cosmetic surgeon is to check credentials. Are they certified with their respective governing board? Does she specialize in a certain procedure and meet all the qualifications for that specialty? A doctor who performs rhinoplasty may not be the best breast augmentation specialist. You'll never know unless you take the time to do the research yourself. Don't leave this to chance and your friend's recommendation from three years ago. The medical profession changes constantly and doctors must always clamor to keep up with the changing standards.
To expedite your research, both before and during your initial consultation, follow these general guidelines:
- What's the doctor's primary expertise? Don't let them tell you they are a "jack-of-all trades". Every surgeon specializes in something. Find out exactly what.
- Ensure that the surgeon has performed a substantial number of cosmetic surgery procedures.
- Once you've found out their area of expertise, find out how many procedures they've completed. You're looking for total number of procedures-both successful and unsuccessful. How do you find out if a surgery was unsuccessful? Ask! As a potential client, you have every right to ask about not so successful procedures. While the doctor probably won't go into details-patient confidentiality of course-he should give you an answer that at least makes you feel comfortable. You're not asking for a confession here. Just an honest answer.
- What kind of equipment is in the office? Ask to look around. What's the vibe you get when you walk into a room (if the procedure is performed in the office)? Does the equipment look like it walked of a bad 1990s movie? Or does it look state of the art? I think we all know when something is outdated and old technological wise.
- How much will it cost? Don't wait until the last-minute with deposits paid to ask how much the procedure will cost-the grand total cost with everything added in. If it's performed in a hospital, fees can add up very quickly. Just ask. Most doctors expect you to ask!
- Looks at pictures of previous patients from a pre and post operation perspective. Most offices will allow you to look through before and after pictures. Again, don't put this off. Know what you're getting into.
- Any type of surgery, including cosmetic, has its assumed risks and complications. Don't let the doctor dismiss you off-hand. Don't assume you won't be the 1% that ends up with a botched job.
- And last, but not least, make sure the doctor will be part of your post-op care.
Your cosmetic surgery success will depend on you to properly performing your due diligence. Don't let the excitement of having a procedure done prevent you from asking the right questions. And, likewise, don't let the fear of the process keep you from having it done.

Wait! Don't Cancel That Hair Appointment

Life can be very intense. Everything is clamoring for our attention. Work, family, hobbies, kids-where's the time for ourselves? And now you realize you have an appointment at the local salon. That's right, priority zero. But it will become a priority at some point because we all need a trim.
So, canceling your reservation shouldn't be an option. It should absolutely be a top priority. Apart from the time alone for relaxation it will give you, there are five good reasons why you shouldn't call and cancel your next salon rendezvous.
1. Keeping the appointment will actually save you time. You know how it is to fix everything one morning until that fateful day when you notice your hair is long overdue for an adjustment. So, after hours of trying to force everything, you'll have to resign yourself to the fact that only a cut and style is going to fix this mess. By visiting your stylist now, you'll prevent the rush to repair the long overdue hairdo when it's jump to priority number one on your list. Dealing with a perfect cut and shaped style in the morning is a breeze and will save you loads of time.
2. You'll save money. Have you ever let your grass get too long? You have to call in an army of mowers to get it back to normal. With a hairdo that's long overdue, your stylist will have to work harder-and you'll spend more time and money-to get it back into shape.
3. When you think you need a haircut-do it today. Of course, we all think tomorrow or next week or next month will certainly be more time friendly, that our workload will be slower than today. Has that ever happened in your life? Next week will be very similar to this week and the week after. Don't kid yourself. When you think it, do it.
4. Hairstylists are like doctors-it can take weeks to get in. This is especially true if your stylist is good. No doubt everyone else in towns thinks she's good too. If you fail to keep your appointment, someone else will jump in line and take it. And not to mention the hundreds of other people in line waiting for a turn. Delaying only means more fretting about when you can get in next.
5. It shows respect. When you book a meeting, your hairdresser can plan out her day. She won't appreciate a last-minute cancel even if she is popular. And a single cancellation can snowball the rest of the day. I've even heard of hairdressers who cancel their clients for missing too many appointments. You can make more money but you can't make more time.
Of course, there will absolutely be times when other priorities just can't be put off. If that's the case, be respectful and try to cancel at least 24 hours ahead of time. As you can see, making your appointment a priority should make you think twice about canceling.

Massage and Fitness Work Together

You're sporty, adventurous, outdoorsy, and it doesn't take much to get you to lace-up your trainers and head off for a run. By your standards, which are pretty high, you are in shape; fit and toned; and you love your sport. You have no qualms waking up early to exercise and your weekends are a festival of sporting events and outdoor activities. Fitness is your friend. If you love being active and have a passion for fitness then you'll enjoy these 5 reasons why a regular massage can be highly beneficial when included in your fitness regime. If you are not a fitness freak and you're looking to get in shape; these 5 reasons may help, too.
1. Increases circulation
It doesn't matter whether you're following an intense exercise routine or if you are just jumping on the treadmill for a couple of hours every week; good circulation will increase your stamina, allowing you to enjoy your workout. Improved circulation delivers more nutrition and oxygen to your muscle tissue while also removing metabolic waste. A regular massage will reduce blood pressure; listen up overworked paper pushing stress nuts! Improved circulation will also reduce fatigue, general tiredness, and pain in muscle tissue. Massage has also been proved to reduce muscle adhesions formed during exercise.
2. Improves lymphatic flow
The lymphatic system is the body's purification center. Lymphatic fluid is pumped around the body, delivering pathogens such as germs and toxins through the lymphatic nodes, purifying the body. Lymph nodes are located around the body, predominately in the groin, neck, breast, abdomen, knees and elbows, and help to break down these particles so they can be released from the body. A healthy body requires a healthy lymphatic system, and a regular massage will increase lymphatic flow, keeping your body healthy by flushing out all the toxins.
3. Assists recovery
Whether through sports injury or surgery we all want to avoid downtime and get back on our feet as soon as possible. Massage has been proven to speed up recovery, allowing you to get back to full health and get back in the gym or on the road. A good massage will reduce stiffness and pain, accelerate the healing process, and relax the muscle tissue while promoting physical and mental feelings of wellness. As a result of improved circulation muscle tissue is oxygen rich and full of nutrients, providing an ideal scenario for fast muscle recovery. Ensuring that your muscles are jam-packed with nutrients will help to eliminate muscle spasms Massage will also increase muscle, ligament and tendon building and development, strengthening your body and improving neuromuscular activity.
4. Boosts immune system
Maintaining a healthy body is crucial if you want to keep up with the pace and continue to follow a regular fitness program then your body needs to be in tip-top condition. Ensuring that your immune system is able to fight off all those diseases and impurities is essential. When we are stressed our immune system is significantly lowered, putting us at risk to disease. Massage is a proven stress reliever which helps us to maintain and boost our immune systems. This is achieved by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, a collection of nerve endings in the skin, which encourages the relaxation of the muscles.
5. Promotes flexibility and mobility
Effective exercise requires a flexible body to move comfortable through its range of motion. This movement is highly dependable on the joints and soft tissues around them. Scaring, adhesions and tensed trigger points in the muscles can restrict movements and cause pain and discomfort. As we get older we lose our flexibility due to a changing in the make-up of the connective tissues. However, regular exercise aids in keep the muscles hydrated, maintaining and prolonging suppleness. While certain massage techniques definitely assist with promoting flexibility stretching seems to be the most effective solution to stiffness and restricted range of motion.
There you have it, the 5 reasons why you should include a massage into your fitness regime. Massages increase circulation, transporting all the "good stuff" such as oxygen and nutrients around the body. A regular massage also flushes all the "bad stuff" such as pathogens and toxins out of the body. They speed up recovery, boost the immune system and increase mobility through flexibility. If you take your fitness routine seriously then scheduling a monthly, or even weekly, massage is highly recommended. Ensure that your body is a pinnacle of health and wellness, so you can receive the maximum benefits from your fitness regime.

Pain Management With Massage Therapy

You believe in making the most of your life. But a painful limb or back pain is constantly hindering your everyday life. Everyday simple tasks are cumbersome and you are more grumpy than smiling at life. This picture can change if you consider massage therapy as a pain management solution.
The right massage therapy can work wonders for you for your back pain treatment. In fact, thousands of patients who complained of severe to mild back pain have found recourse in massage therapies that have changed their lives completely. Therapy combined with the right pain management solutions can bring your life back on track.
Who to approach?
The right thing to do would be to approach professional health care experts who can analyze what exactly is wrong and advice the right massage therapy. You can also contact a complementary health care center where professional massage therapists give you the right care. Remedial massage therapists work in sync with pain management medics to understand the cause of the pain. They suggest remedial massage therapy for bringing relief to you and help in alleviating pain completely.
How much time does it take?
In many cases of patients with pain problems, it is difficult to predict how long it will take to get rid of the pain completely. It is important to find out the reason for the persisting pain. Is it due to some injury you suffered earlier or is it due to factors such as stress, incorrect posture or something else? Sometimes, simply changing the sitting position or working hours can bring a lot of relief. Injuries may heal over time but the pain can linger for years. The right therapy can work wonders in minimizing this pain and gradually make it disappear over time.
Is medication necessary?
Depending upon the reason the pain occurs, your doctor along with your remedial massage therapist is the best person to suggest if medication for relieving pain is necessary. More often than not, the right mix of medication and massage can bring instant as well as long-lasting relief. Moreover, your medical expert can slowly reduce the use of medicines when you start showing signs of better pain management.
Pain management through the ages
For centuries around the world, pain management with the help of massage therapy has been the norm. In fact, practitioners of alternative forms of medicine include massage as a compulsory relief provider. Massage therapy experts are certified professionals who know how to do their job. They may work independently or for a remedial massage health care center.
Back pain and neck pain is something that most of us experience fairly regularly. The causes for this can be many. These days work related health issues have become increasingly common. Massage therapy Bankstown is a leading health care clinic in NSW, Australia providing various massage therapies including osteopathy massage.

Can Usher Syndrome Type III Be Detected Genetically?

Usher syndrome Type III is the rarest form of genetic disorder. As a genetic disease, there are tests available to diagnose this illness, including prenatal tests.
What Is Usher Syndrome?
Usher syndrome is a genetic disease that affects hearing and vision. It also goes by the names Graefe-Usher syndrome, Deafness-retinitis pigmentosa syndrome, and dystrophia retinae pigmentosa-dysostosis syndrome. It is a progressive disease so that sufferers at first experience mild symptoms such as difficulty being able to see at night. As the disease worsens, individuals eventually develop blind spots and tunnel vision. While those who have it retain some vision, most patients become completely deaf.
Types of Usher Syndrome
There are three main types of Usher. Type I affects individuals throughout their whole lives. Those with Type I are born deaf or completely lose their hearing within their first year of life and they start losing their vision in childhood. Type II patients are also born deaf or experience complete hearing loss during the first year. However, the onset of vision loss starts later, usually around adolescence. Those with Type III experience symptoms later in life. Unlike Type I or Type II, Type III infants are able to hear and do not experience hearing loss until they approach adolescence. Vision loss begins to occur around the same time.
Rarity of Type III
Overall, this is a rare disease. On average, it occurs in just 4 out of 100,000 people. However, because it is a genetic disease, it occurs with a higher rate in certain populations such as eastern and central European Jewish ethnicity. Even among patients, Type III is rare. The sole exception lies within the Finnish population where 40 percent of patients have Type III.
Usher Syndrome Type III Genes
Several genes produce Usher Syndrome, but Clarin One, or CLRN1 is the only gene identified as being responsible for the Type III disease. This gene plays a crucial role in the development of vision, hearing, and balance. The disease requires at least two mutations; one of the CLRN1 gene and another gene yet to be identified.
Genetic Tests
Since the CLRN1 gene mutation is a hallmark of Usher syndrome Type III, genetic testing is available. Carrier tests can determine if someone has the potential to pass along Usher syndrome to their offspring. Prenatal tests can determine if a child will be born with the disease.
Sometimes it may seem tempting to avoid these tests and hope for the best, but doing so puts your offspring at more risk. If you know that a genetic disease is a high possibility, you can prepare ahead of time, and know what to do if it happens. You could have doctors ready to help you, and information on hand. Burying your head in the sand is rarely the right thing to do in any situation, and when it comes to genetic testing for potential diseases one should definitely consider the many up-sides.

Recommendations for Health and Wellbeing

To become a steward of health, one should know how to prioritize their basic needs. These cover the physiological, physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects. However, the main ingredient to achieve an optimum level of wellbeing is through addressing the requirements of bodily and cognitive sides.
The physical wellbeing involves the requirements of avoiding common illnesses and maintenance of a normal bodily conditions. The psychological wellbeing focuses on the person's perspective towards their healthy living.
These two aspects work hand-in-hand to become a healthy person. The reason for this is that psychological aspect can influence bodily reactions, which may result into different physiological responses causing abnormal balance within the body.
Men's Health
The physical need of men focuses on their ability to sustain sufficient amount of calories. Men exert more energy consumption than women. Therefore, the caloric need for men is higher. In line to this, men tend to be more assertive, when it comes to their health.
Unlike women, men's tolerance level towards illnesses is greater. It means that men often consult a doctor in terms of what they felt. Instead, they will end up being admitted in the hospital if the case is too severe for them.
The psychological health of men focuses on stress reduction. Men being the common bread winner of the family tend to work harder and earn income for financial obligations. This tells everyone that men are more exposed to work-related stress and tensions, which places them at risk of developing more health problems.
The best way to prevent stress for men is to take proper pacing of their job and personal life. Through this, they regain normal composure to withstand the threat of stress.
Women's Health
The physical need of women is lesser than men. They are more conscious of what they eat and drink. Women are keener of their health and any minimal signs or symptoms that can affect their activities are immediately reported to the doctor.
The psychological health of women is more dramatic than men. They are emotionally mature and tend to voice out the tension in an erratic behaviour. Women are more subjective than being objective. This places them at risk of developing low self-esteem or confidence.
Women most often can easily cope with their psychological problems. However, they are predominantly affected by psychological fixation. It means that women have extreme reactions toward stress or pressures. Either they can easily adapt with the crisis or fail to move on.
Kids' Health
Physically, children's health is the most basic. The focus of their wellbeing includes:
1. Growth and development which are addressed by sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals.
2. Proper exercises to boost their bodily functions.
3. Outdoor or indoor games can improve their social needs and leadership skills.
4. Sufficient sleep and rest for proper mind functioning and becoming an active child in the following days.
The psychological need of children mainly involves independence. Most kids do not want to be controlled. However, this behaviour should not be disregarded by adults because it may not be a favourable consideration on the child's end.
Minimal supervision until a child is fostered with proper decorum can help them become an independent person of their own health.
In today's fast paced lifestyle, everything else has become important except health. We run at our maximum pace when in youth, but as we grow and age, the strength, immunity and tolerance of the body reduces. This is the reason why the age of 40 and above brings in with itself various illnesses, disorders and diseases.
Health is like an investment that we do when we are in our prime, and it gives us happy returns once we mature and grow old. Being healthy is the biggest gift of God and that is the reason why the health of man, woman or a child should never be ignored.

Genetic Testing For Tay Sachs Disease

Tay Sachs Disease is a condition in which a baby's neurological system begins to deteriorate about three to six months after birth. It is a genetic condition, and there is no known cure for the disease. It is not detectable before or at birth except with genetic testing. Unfortunately, children are often not diagnosed until the deterioration has begun. It is fatal, so all too often, parents watch their children die from an untreatable condition. Most children who die of this condition will do so at age four or five. Very rarely, people have developed this condition after becoming adults.
Genetic testing is available for Tay Sachs Disease. Although this disease is inherited, doctors call it a recessively inherited disease. This means that both parents must carry the gene for the disorder for the child to inherit it. If both parents do carry the gene, each child has a 25 percent chance of developing the disease. Although these aren't great odds, this does mean that parents who have had a child with the disorder have a three in four chance of conceiving a child who does not have the disease. This can give hope to some parents who are desperate to conceive their own child despite the potential genetic risks.
Testing can be performed before the mother gives birth, or after the child is born. Some parents choose to undergo the testing before birth so they can be prepared for this condition. Other parents may choose to terminate the pregnancy based on the results of the testing. If the testing is performed after birth, it is generally done as a confirmation, to verify what the doctors have already suspected.
Some parents, though, would rather not know, and choose to have the child even after they know their children are at risk for inheriting the condition. There is no wrong answer. Each parent has to choose for himself or herself whether the pain of giving birth to a child who will certainly die from an untreatable condition is greater or less than the pain of never having a child at all.
Children with Tay Sachs Disease often develop blindness, have seizures, lose muscle control, and become less alert. No medications are available to prevent the problem from occurring. All doctors can do is to help to decrease the frequency of seizures, and offer other medications to lessen the severity of symptoms. In some cases, though, experimental therapies like stem-cell transplants and cord blood transfusions have greatly reduced or eliminated the symptoms of this condition. This has been only partially successful, though, and only if the child is diagnosed and treated immediately or shortly after birth.
Two groups of people are at very high risk for the disease in comparison with the rest of the world's population. The Ashkenazi Jewish population has one chance in 27 of developing the disorder. In comparison, French Canadians have about one chance in 73 of inheriting this condition. The rest of the people born throughout the world have, on average, a one in three hundred chance of inheriting this disorder.

What Is Carrier Screening?

Carrier screening is a method used to provide information about the probability of possible genetic disorders. It helps determine if a parent is a carrier for disorder and if he or she could possibly pass a specific disorder onto offspring. Carriers of genetic disorders have one gene that is considered normal and one that is mutated. Carriers of genetic disorders are typically very healthy individuals who never see any effect of the mutation. However, the mutation can be passed on to a child. Being a carrier depends on one's ethnicity and genetic makeup. This means some ethnic groups have a higher rate of genetic disorders in comparison to others.
When Should Carrier Screening Be Done?
Carrier screening should take place if there is a history of genetic disease in a family. Many couples planning to have children will undergo carrier screening in order to determine how risky the pregnancy could potentially be. Certain ethnic groups choose to be screened, as well, in order to make sure genetic diseases such will not be passed down.
How Are the Results of Carrier Testing Beneficial?
Carrier testing results are deemed positive or negative. Negative screenings indicate no mutations were found. This means the person being screened has a low probability of being a carrier but it does not eliminate the chance completely. Positive screenings typically mean a mutation is present. When this happens, it is suggested that one's partner undergo genetic screening, as well. If a couple both are determined to be carriers, there is an extremely high chance that their child will be born with a disease such as Tay Sachs disease or muclolipidosis. When a person finds out if he or she is a carrier of a genetic disease, they should notify family members so they can determine if they would like to be screened too.
What Are Some Genetic Diseases Detected by Carrier Screening?
Genetic diseases such as Tay Sachs disease can be helped through carrier screening even though there is no cure for this specific disease. Parents can become more informed of the background of the disorder and understand what precautions should be taken during the early infant months. It is a disease caused by a missing enzyme. This enzyme is commonly known as HEXA and it causes the brain and nervous system to deteriorate at a very fast rate. Those affected by this disorder appear to be in good health during the first few months of life. However, at ages 3-6 months, developmental skills start to disappear. Children with this disease usually have bouts with blindness, seizures, and loss of strength. Their lifespan is short and most die around the age of six. Children affected by this genetic disorder have to be kept comfortable as there is no particular cure.
Tay Sachs disease is most prevalent in the Ashkenazi Jewish population. This ethnic group has a 1 in every 3,600 chance of being affected, whereas most other groups only have a 1 in 360,000 chance. The Ashkenazi Jewish population also has a high carrier frequency of 1 in 27. Many other genetic disorders such as muclolipidosis, cystic fibrosis, and Usher Syndrome Type III can all be detected by carrier screening. Obtaining knowledge is one of the best ways to understand genetic diseases.

Is There Such a Thing As a Perfect Diet?

Is there such a thing as the perfect diet? If so what would it look like? For years all of us have been bombarded by all kinds of diets. Low carb, low fat, high protein, and on and on. But with all the research isn't there one perfect diet that works for everyone?
Well the short answer is maybe. First let's look at what I believe would the qualifications for a perfect diet.
  1. Is made up of wholefoods.
  2. Be economical.
  3. Consists of foods readily available in your local grocery store.
  4. Consists of many of the foods/meals we consider traditional or comfort foods.
  5. Be healthy.
  6. Help you to maintain ideal weight.
  7. Become a lifestyle not a diet.
  8. Consist of foods & meals the whole family will love.
Okay that's a pretty tall order, but doable. After all shouldn't this perfect diet be one that everyone could enjoy and not some diet that you tolerate for a few weeks, lose some weight and then go right back to the burgers and fries. Well stay tune and I'll explore each of these qualifications and see if we can come up with a perfect diet.
First of all let us look at whole foods. By whole foods I mean foods that have one ingredient. Like salmon. The only ingredient should be salmon! Or chicken, potatoes, spinach; okay you get the idea.Select foods that are onprocessed and do not come with a list of ingredients longed than one or two items and certainly not with ingredients you can't pronounce and have no idea what they are.
Be affordable: Like you I have tried diets that have a list of ingredients that break the food budget. Stick with common everyday foods that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Items three and four are closely related to item two. Buy economical foods that are available in your local food stores and are common "comfort foods". I have a favorite health food store, but it's a good forty minutes away and every time we go we return with items not on our list. Usually it's some exotic food item we just wanted to try, usually it's pretty expensive and several time we have put it in the fridge or pantry and forgotten about it.
Items five and six are also similar. Of course the food we eat must be healthy or else what's the point! And if it is healthy we should maintain a healthy body weight. Again sticking to one or two ingredient whole foods and as much as possible organic foods is the way to go.
Let us look at items seven and eight. In order for this diet to work and be perfect it must be something that becomes a lifestyle and consists of foods that the whole family will eat. Now that's a tall order, especially if you have young children. Here are two helpful tips to get even finicky eaters to try new foods.

Recovering From Total Joint Replacement

Immediately after your total joint replacement surgery, you will be moved into a recovery room to be monitored for a couple of hours. After the anaesthesia has worn off and you are awake, you will then be moved to your ward where you will stay for the next few days. A typical stay in the hospital will be between 3 to 5 days depending on your progress. Before the effects of the anaesthesia have fully worn off, you should consume pain killers to prevent a sudden onset of unbearable pain. So how do you recover from total joint replacement surgery?
Physical therapy
Muscle atrophy is the result of depriving muscles activities, leading to muscle wastage. This can happen after a couple of days post surgery, leading to shrinking of muscles and muscular apoptosis. In order to prevent this, physical therapy will be required. Physical therapy helps to strengthen the hip joints through various small but effective exercises. It usually begins almost immediately after surgery in order to prevent scar tissues from forming. A physical therapist will be there to teach you some basic exercises to help you regain strength and full hip movement in the shortest time. It continues even when you have been discharged, and you will be required to show up for your physical therapy classes up to 4 times a week.
Understand possible medical complications
Hip replacement surgery has a low risk and infections are at a low rate of 2%. However, this does not mean that you are completely clear of any complications. Blood clots in the leg veins can occur due to prolonged immobility, leading to serious consequences if they travel up to the heart or brain. Therefore, some surgeons will recommend the usage of compressive stockings.
Do not be complacent
As time passes, the hip will be stronger and the usage of walking aids such as crutches or walkers will no longer be required. Some patients will tend to get complacent and start to skip physical therapy sessions or ignore symptoms which may indicate infection. Therefore, always be mindful of your responsibilities as a patient and continue your physical therapy sessions until your therapist has given you the all clear.
Your new hip will be able to last you for at least a decade and provide you with freedom you never imagined. However, you still need to know that it is an artificial joint inside you and materials can fail due to various reasons and a second surgery may be required in future.

Brittany Wenger

WHY BRITTANY WENGER IS EXTRAORDINARY
Every year, millions of people, especially women die from diseases such as breast cancer and leukemia. Often, these diseases are discovered only when they have already made significant damage on the body, and much of the early warning methods are invasive and inconvenient.
Fortunately, developments in science and technology have allowed us to find better ways of diagnosing diseases such as these, in hopes of making their treatments a lot easier compared to how it was done in the past.
Meet Brittany Wenger, a young inventor, computer programmer and scientist from Ohio who is most known for making Cloud4Cancer, an artificial intelligence software that is designed to detect breast cancer and leukemia at the least invasive and best way possible. Originally starting out as a science project after Brittany's cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer, Cloud4Cancer has now grown to becoming a future potential choice in diagnosing diseases such as this.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
Brittany's work may not yet be out on the market due to still being tested, but her work is no joke. In fact, she has received a lot of awards and recognitions for her efforts, including becoming the winner of the 2012 Google Science Fair and being included in TIME Magazine's "30 People Under 30 Changing the World" and Forbes Magazine's "30 under 30" lists. She was also given the opportunity of featuring her program at the White House Science Fair and personally got to talk to President Barack Obama, who showed great interest in the development of Cloud4Cancer.
PASSION: WHAT DRIVES BRITTANY
What made it all possible for Brittany was her genuine love and interest for science and technology, something that she had since she was young. For Brittany, science has a lot to offer the world, as it not only helps answer the questions of life in a logical way but it also helps improve the world by revolutionizing the things that we know about our surroundings. As she says in an interview:
"The most amazing part about science is you can answer questions and really revolutionize the world and our knowledge base."
Passion. This is the word that can sum up the life and career of Brittany because of the amazing things that it has brought her all throughout these years. It was because of her passion for science that she was able to create her first soccer playing computer in the seventh grade, and it is also what enabled her to develop her cancer detecting software that is greatly revolutionizing the medical industry today.
When she was interviewed about an advice she could give for budding inventors, Brittany had this to say:
"If you find your passion, just follow it and have the persistence to stick through it. I mean, for me, the breast cancer program failed completely two times before it succeeded. But what's great about science is that you learn a lot from those experiments. They can really help you move forward."
Indeed it is. It is because of her passion, not just for science but also for helping people, that Brittany was able to create something as revolutionary as Cloud4Cancer that has great potential of being the future choice of cancer diagnostics. People like Brittany Wenger, who spend their time, effort and energy in finding ways of improving things, are the reason why we today can live and expect convenient, safe, and comfortable lives.
10 REASONS WHY BRITTANY WENGER IS EXTRAORDINARY

1. Brittany Wenger is the creator of the Global Neural Network Cloud Service for Breast Cancer, a.k.a. Cloud4Cancer, an A.I. software designed to detect breast cancer and leukemia.
2. She is one of the top young scientists in the world today in the field of medical research.
3. She is the winner of the 2012 Google Science Fair.
4. She was included in TIME Magazine's "30 People Under 30 Changing the World".
5. She was included in the "30 under 30" list by Forbes Magazine.
6. Her invention was featured in the White House Science Fair and she was even granted an audience with President Barack Obama, who showed great interest in her work.
7. Her invention can greatly revolutionize the method of diagnostics of breast cancer, leukemia, and other diseases, that would lead to treating them a lot sooner before they could do major damage to the body.
8. She is a recipient of the Google CS Connect Award.
9. She is among the most popular young female scientists and inventors in the world today.
10. Her invention, Cloud4Cancer, is now being supported and beta-tested by several hospitals in the United States.

Top Home Remedies for Cellulite

We all hate cellulite. But the good thing is that there are various ways of minimizing it. Cellulite is more a female than a male problem and most women are looking for ways to get rid of it. When it comes to home remedies for cellulites, there a few ways that all dieters and health care practitioners seems to agree on. These include:
Detoxification
Detoxification is not only helpful but it visibly helps reduce the cellulite. The suitable method of detoxification depends entirely on you. However, if you have no idea on where to begin when it comes to detoxification, you can try the one day wonder. Start by picking a single day in a week and for that entire day i.e. 24 hours, eat only some fruits and raw vegetables. No juice, no dressing, nothing else except herbal tea. Avoid even green tea.
Dry skin brushing
Another method that all holistic practitioners seem to agree on is dry skin brushing. Brush your entire body everyday, morning or evening or both and stroke the skin firmly, but not painfully, towards the heart. Brush the whole body, stroking firmly the areas with cellulite. Use a brush with soft to medium natural bristle. Rushing is wonderful for blood circulation and lymphatic, which is key to reducing cellulite.
Exercise
Exercise can play a key role in reducing cellulite. Though the best form of exercise is not widely agreed on, an intense weight program, together with at least two aerobic type sessions per week can do wonders. Try it and you will not regret.
Water
When you drink water, it can be possible to flush out the toxins, improve circulation, hydrate and tone the skin. This is a simple but very important remedy. If you aren't interested in drinking eight glasses of water everyday, you can try herbal tea. Regular tea and coffee doesn't count and instead interfere with good hydration. Therefore, you must reduce them. If you must have juice, take it sparingly. This should be a maximum of 2 glasses in a day.
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Vitamin, fibers and minerals found in fruits and vegetables help to build healthy skins as well as connective tissue. The fluid and fibers can reduce cellulite as they help detoxify the body. Limiting juice consumption does not mean limiting fresh juice. Fresh raw fruits have enzymes and fiber, while juice doesn't. But when you make it yourself, it will have enzymes but no fibers.
